Food Safety

Nat’s Nuts was born in the bowels of a college dorm; not exactly the epitome of a food safe environment. Utilizing the New York State Home Processor Exemption, I was able to legally serve up things like Whiskey Pecans and Coffee Roasted Peanuts to hungry college students, gracious faculty and staff at Roberts Wesleyan College, and people from church. My Mom’s fully and surprisingly healthily stocked pantry was my first source (an unsuspecting source) of pecans and almonds. On every burner of the Miner Hall 4 burner stove, the nuts shuttled from Oswego would be roasted and seasoned by $20 handheld roasters purchased from eBay.

Back in those days, we tried our best to be conscientious of food safety but were limited by our environment and capacity. Now, we have a 7000 sq ft. facility completely dedicated to roasting delicious nuts in a way that exceeds general food safety standards. We follow Good Manufacturing Practices, are registered with the FDA, have a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Plan, traceability and recall capabilities, and standard operating procedures that comply with the highest standard for food safety.

It is our commitment to provide all of our customers with a product that goes above and beyond the standard for food safety.
