vertical Integration

Vertical integration is more than just a business concept, it's a core part of how we operate at Nat’s Nuts. The term describes a streamlined approach in which a company manages multiple stages of its supply chain in-house, from production to distribution. This model allows us to ensure consistency, transparency, and quality at every step.

Traditionally, the supply chain for nuts involves many parties. A typical process involves the farmer, processor, broker, distributor, and finally, the retailer. We do things differently by sourcing directly from the farmer who handles all of the growing, processing, and distribution.

At Nat’s Nuts, we follow a similar philosophy. Rather than relying on third-party copackers, distributors, and warehouses, we manage roasting, packaging, storage, and shipping directly in-house. Our supply chain is straightforward: Nut Farmer → Nat’s Nuts → Consumer or Store.

The benefits of vertical integration are abundant. We are able to:

  • Maintain strict quality control from sourcing to final product.
  • Offer competitive and stable pricing.
  • Ensure full traceability of our ingredients.
  • Support family-owned farms and trusted partners who share our values.

We partner with vertically-integrated almond and pecan suppliers, source sugar from a processor in Buffalo, NY, and buy pouches and corrugate from companies in Rochester, NY. Each of these partnerships is built with the same principles of transparency, quality, and long-term sustainability.
